I'm sure he'd say, because you're sinning in your heart. But,for those of us who aren't religious freaks,we don't see how you could stop either

It isn't wrong and sinful. These terms are too loaded with religious baggage so let us say "disordered". Hating someone would be disordered. It would disrupt your personality and is a complete waste of time and energy. Loving someone, on the other hand, is natural to the human condition. Who is your grandfather, with respect, or anyone else to tell you that you should be the exception? Love is the main building block of any worthwhile society. In any case you can't stop loving somebody without doing a violence to your heart. Why would anyone want you to do that? Be who you are. And you won't go to hell for telling the person how you feel. I think you will be in hell here and now if you don't. If you trust him, try it.

Because they have been mislead by their religion and it is not even your grandfathers fault he has been mislead as well. The truth is that since the death of Christ Satan has been at work to destroy the relationship between Christan men. He has chosen the loving relationships of homosexual men to be the vehicle. If he can destroy the very foundation of male relationships the strength of the bond that men can feel by making normal male relationships weaker then it will be harder for christian men to unite and fight against him. This is why he has worked for centuries to turn religions against homosexual unions making them an anathema to the general population he has gotten normal bisexuals to doubt or hide themselves because if they where in harmony with other Christians fully trusting that they would be accepted then they would be to powerful. The same can be said for homosexual men since they are not accepted into religion then many turn from the church thereby denying the church the strong protection of a large segment of the population. It is a sorry state of affairs but there is nothing one person can do to fix it. If Christian men could show affection with out fear of being seen as gay then they woudl be able to be stronger with in thier own community. If they coudl have fellowship with each other and with gay men in acceptable Christian loving afermation then the church would be too powerful and Satan would not have as many souls as he does now.

loving someone respectfully is the most beautiful thing you can do to anyone. not everyone is religious, am not religious, and i see love between two people of the same sex as being as valid a love as a heterosexual relationship.
heaven and hell are states of mind for the most part, and you may find both heaven and hell on earth.
you dont have to follow a religion even if you have been brought up in a religion. i dont adhere to the religion i was brought up with, i recognise i have choice.
at the end of the day, "sacred" scriptures are simply history books.

Lets suppose that homosexuality is a sin. The Bible says that Jesus Christ came to earth to forgive all sins.
Effectively, your grandfather is saying that Jesus forgave all sins EXCEPT for ....
Which in effect is discrediting the ultimate price paid by Jesus.
In addition, the Bible calls for the love of everyone including the sinner stating that only God gets to judge.
What I'm trying to illustrate here is that your grandfather (and a lot of others) have merely altered religious teaching in order to justify homophobia.

Personally I do not think loving anyone can be wrong.
The main reason why religions are so against homosexuality is that no religion can survive without followers and gay couples can't create new folllowers so hetrosexual relationships are encouraged while homosexual ones are considered wrong.
As an ordained minsitrer I can not consider God as to disapproving of a person having positive feelings for another person.

you can still love someone without shagging them. The rewards of the flesh are what most people worry about. Same sex sex is great, sex between both great too. If sex is what you want good luck go for it. If it's love, maybe a few more battles are in store. To hell with sin. Be happy and make others happy too

God made us all... yes even gay people. And God doesn't make mistakes, so Grandpa is wrong. If he was as truly Christian as he preaches, he would love everyone as Christ does. Please don't lead a celibate life. You will find the right person, regardless of what is between their legs, and you will fall madly, deeply in love. You'll know when the time is right....Good Love and remember God loves you, just the way you are....

what your grandpa says is just not true. I have read the bible many times and am still reading, and the thing that is a sin is acting it out. Now it's true that jesus said that when you look at someone with lust in your eyes you already committed a sin - in your heart.
When you get involved with jesus, those feelings of homosexuality and lust for the same sex decrease, you start a new life and you're guided by the holy spirit.
look: ezekiel 33:10:
10 "Son of man, say to the house of Israel, 'This is what you are saying: "Our offenses and sins weigh us down, and we are wasting away because of [b] them. How then can we live?" ' 11 Say to them, 'As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die, O house of Israel?'
12 "Therefore, son of man, say to your countrymen, 'The righteousness of the righteous man will not save him when he disobeys, and the wickedness of the wicked man will not cause him to fall when he turns from it. The righteous man, if he sins, will not be allowed to live because of his former righteousness.' 13 If I tell the righteous man that he will surely live, but then he trusts in his righteousness and does evil, none of the righteous things he has done will be remembered; he will die for the evil he has done. 14 And if I say to the wicked man, 'You will surely die,' but he then turns away from his sin and does what is just and right- 15 if he gives back what he took in pledge for a loan, returns what he has stolen, follows the decrees that give life, and does no evil, he will surely live; he will not die. 16 None of the sins he has committed will be remembered against him. He has done what is just and right; he will surely live.
17 "Yet your countrymen say, 'The way of the Lord is not just.' But it is their way that is not just. 18 If a righteous man turns from his righteousness and does evil, he will die for it. 19 And if a wicked man turns away from his wickedness and does what is just and right, he will live by doing so. 20 Yet, O house of Israel, you say, 'The way of the Lord is not just.' But I will judge each of you according to his own ways."

I was really religious, and one day i was giving this piece of information that my mum and members of the church could not answer prpoerly- that was the day i lost my faith in god... I was told that the most religious people tend to be the most hypocritical and if you look at it closely it is very true. your granfather's job is to preach what he considers the word of god. but, he is also judging you or people who are gay so therefore that is wrong. isnt it? read your bible and find quotes to challenge your grandfather- trust me, it is the best thing you can do for him and yourself. goodluck.
