Keep in mind that there are 300 new major releases each year. Watching them all is not practical for anyone who is gainfully employed.

depends on my mood if im kinda down i go for a funny one but i like scary movies and action

hmmm... good question. Start by narrowing it down by your favorite categores like Sci-Fi, Horror, Action and Drama... then take a look at the actors to see if there are any that you like and then check out the movie... I know what you mean though the selection is pretty big.. I try t o go with topics that are original and have not been done before. Good luck

Judge by the previews if its going to be worth watching or just another lame movie with a plot that has already been used in 100 other flicks.

the cast will always draw my attention first. then, here's what i do next:
1. if it has one or more of my favorite actors in it... i'll watch it for sure.
2. if it has a strong cast overall... i'll watch it.
3. if i've never heard of anyone in the movie, i usually pass it up. unless someone recommends it to me, or there has been any kind of press around it. (you know, like controversial).
and by the way... you know a movie is really bad when... not even your favorite actors can save it !

get a friend to help you, or make a list of ones you would like to see and then take another look at it and cross off the ones you don't really like. and soon you will have a few movies you think look good to watch.

it depends on what kind of movies you like. If you like scary movies watch scary movies if you like drama movies watch drama movies. Or maybe if you have a favorite actor or actress and [s]he is in the movie then go and see that one.

i read the story line....or see if there are any good actors in it...or by the genre (ex. i like sci-fi more than horror...etc,) or you could read the reviews for the movie, and see if other people though it was worthwhile to see.
