The Reciprocal of infinity is Zero.

Table of a number N, against its reciprocal, 1/N

N : 1/N
-----------
1 : 1

10 : 1/10 = 0.1

100 : 1/100 = 0.01

1,000,000 : 1/1,000,000 = 0.000001

...

Infinity : 1/Infinity = 0.0000000000...

Infinity is a concept. Since it is not a number, it does not have an opposite. It'd be like asking what's the opposite of a chair. There is negative infinity, but that is simply to show direction. Interesting enough, there are degrees of infinity. There is countable infinity and uncountable infinity. Countable infinity would be, for example, all countable numbers (1, 2, 3, 4, ...), while uncountable infinity would be something which would be impossible to count, such as all the numbers between 1 & 1.1 (1.01, 1.001, 1.0001, 1.09, 1.0901, etc).

the opposite of infinity is finite, it can be any number, even a huge number that has a finite digits. Zero is not the only opposite of infinity.

In mathematics, there isn't a definition of opposite.

What would you say is the opposite of 2? Is it -2, or 1/2?

Further, infinity is not a real number. You can't do arithmetic with it.
It's mathematical shorthand for the concept of unbounded growth.
So addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division involving zero have no meaning. Period. End of discussion.

Which opposite are you talking about. If you are talking about opposite additively, then negative infinity would be the answer. And if you are talking about opposite multiplicatively, then the opposite of infinity is infinitesimally small meaning getting closer and closer to zero.

If you are talking about the English language, then the opposite of infinite is finite.
