There's Abreva, which they sell over the counter at pharmacies. That supposedly reduces healing time.

The best way to make a cold sore to 'go way' is to prevent them in the first place. Firstly is your body run down as this will cause a cold sore or have you been a bit 'naughty' (more than one partner), and do you feel 'guilty' for this. Anyway you can get rid of them by using a block of ice when you first feel the 'tingling sensation'. It is ok to have more than one guy on the go at once, your cold sore could be the symptoms of the way you are thinking or have been told that 'is the correct way to behave'.

Get some Alum, it's a pickling spice available at most groceries. Put some on the cold sore for about a minute then rinse it off. The Alum will really sting, but afterwards, your cold sore won't hurt a bit and will it will be gone in a couple days.

mega doses of L-Lysine (I usually take 6-10 a day)...it's an amino acid...it really works, but you have to take it until the sore is completely gone, or else it will just sit there at whatever stage you stopped it...also Abreva, every 15 mins to start and less often later. Wash your hands often, don't kiss anyone, and don't rub your eyes (or privates), or you will get it there...

if you get them alot, take a couple of L-Lysine daily and it will prevent them.

L-Lysine from the vitamin section will take care of cold sores. If you catch it at the beginning it will keep it from erupting altogether. I take two at the onset, and one every four hours for one day. That usually keeps them away.

You mix honey with lemon and cook it in the microwave for about 30seconds
1) You pour 3 spoons of honey
2) You squeeze about 3 spoons of lemon and mix it together
3) You cook it in the microwave for about 30 seconds.
4) You swallow 3 spoon fulls of that....or you can drink as much as you think you need.
