If a man was to run across Canada to raise money for MS would you make an effort to show encouragement by going out to see him if he runs through your city? Or be willing to run with him for a bit...This man is my business partner and best friend and we are in the process of planning this event, - Feb 28 starting in Victoria BC and running , biking , rollerblading to St John's Newfoundland. Should take us approximately 8 months, there is a team of 5 support people, He has had MS for 19 years.
WE are working very hard to organize this event, and I"m curious to see what kind of response we will get from the general public.
Thank you.

Well, you said Canada, but if you came through Madison, Wisconsin, I'd be right there to take pictures and hand out Gatorade/ bottles of Evian or something. What he is doing is beautiful, and I would be pathetic to sit at home when he came through. An act like this needs / deserves the support of all communities---monetary and social support. The more publicity he gets, the more he will raise awareness, and MS will get the funds they so desperately need to continue research. Good luck and God bless you all!

Publicity is everything. You need to raise awareness and support in all the areas you will go through. Contact local papers and radio stations. People will come out. Encourage people to run, bike and rollerblade with you. But the public need to know so they can participate. And they will participate if given the opportunity.

If this is for raising money for research I don't have much money but I'd at ask people who can spare some to donate. Also I have a support group site and I'd be more than happy to spread the word on there too.
