About $8.50 a gallon - I'm in the UK which has some of the highest gas prices in the world.
I've just come back from parts of Africa where gas is more expensive than in the US yet earnings are less than 10% - that's like having to pay the equivalent of $35 or $40 a gallon.
Bottom line is that depsite gas prices going up and up in the UK for the last 30 years it's done nothing to reduce the number of vehicles on the roads or to reduce journeys. The only people affected have been the elderly and the very poor who can no longer afford to run a car. The rest of us just manage by cutting back on other things and I guess if gas prices keep rising in the US it will be the same.

Some say it may go up to $5.30 a gallon in about a month.One of our biggest suppliers just shut down today in Alaska.You think $3.02 is bad! Its going to get even worse.
I may buy a bike.Maybe its good that gas prices in America are sky high!Make the nearly 95% of our population which is FAT,buy bikes and peddle their way to a BEAUTIFUL and FIT America.Cleaner air too. ;)

I paid $2.96 today. Reading through the answers here it is outrageous every where.
First the government wants to raise taxes, then wants us to quit smoking so they raise cigarettes, then they want us to stop drinking and raise beer, then to cover all the other expenses they raise the price of food, then we have the gas hike so now they want to take our cars away from us. When will this end. Please, let us keep our freedom.

3.25. Something like that. I live in CA though. I agree. OMG. At this rate i won't be able to drive around anymore. Well riding a bike or walking is healthier. so whatever.

OMG Gas prices should be higher in the U.S. so we would use less....
I talked to an English chap this weekend and he said if gas is 3.00/gallon here it's like 11.00 there.....
Now who's boo hooing?

I'm in Sacramento, CA I've seen it in my area from $3.03 to $3.13 all in my neighborhood.
