I have a friend with a 2002 Xterra, and she's never had any mechanical problems with it. With regular maintenance, she's had very good luck. With that being said, regular maintenance is the key, changing oil, etc. I know someone that owned a 4runner for 10 years and it was also an excellent vehicle. Just make sure you have someone that knows cars to check the vehicle out before you buy it. Good luck!

I have a 94 4runner and it is the best vehicle I have ever owned but Nissans are great cars too and they last. I also owned a 81 toyota car with 500,000 miles that ran great 23 years later until the wrist pin broke.
