I tried all the other solutions and none of them worked, does anyone else have any help to offer? the computer will only be used for games it wont be hooked back up to the net....

You do not need an internet connection to get rid of Win98, BUT You DO need a Operating System on the computer for it to work. If you are wanting to uninstall the Win98 and use another OS, then you will need to format your harddrive, and be sure to back up any drivers that you do not have on CD.

format the hard drive, and put the new os but if that computer is using 98 you can't play new games that needs more power, 128 or 256 in video, pentium III or 4 and 256 or 512 ram
