I will tell you for sure Tuesday on the year, about 1988. The oil injection system you have was called Auto Blend. It is obsolete, has been for years. Get a new fuel line assembly, a good Mercury one, not a Tempo or Attwood. Remove the oil tank and old fuel line. Mix your gas and oil at a 50:1 ratio, that was all the injection system did. Happy boating, that 4 cyl is a great running motor.

It is Tuesday and your motor is a 1988.

Mixing your gas is always the best you can be sure it is mixed at all times. the injection system may fail and blow your engine before you know there is a problem.

exactly but let me add a point, fill the injection tank and disconnect it because it may send a signal if its empty, it may not let it start............... if no one on here knows the answer to the date go to the library and look it up in the manual

no ,but you no longer have a controlled oil ejection system, not so oil efficient ,might smoke more till you learn the mix and fouling plugs and poor running will be the norm
