the bellboy pockets the last two. so each person only payed 9$. 9*3 is equal to 27 and plus the two the bellboy took, so what happened to the last. i cant solve this

I love that joke. Actually, the three people paid $25 divided three ways before the bellboy gave each of them his dollar back. Remember it was the manager who paid the bellboy $5.

Well I'm only guessing but i think that the manager has it. Since the bellboy gave back a dollar. Not completely sure.
