If the brand of tampon is too large for you, then it could be that you need to try a slimmer brand. I know a few manufacturers that make tampons for younger women just because of that. Also, make sure that it's inserted all the way. If it's the right size, and all the way inserted, you shouldn't feel a thing!

Try the smallest ones you can find. Also, plastic applicators will probably make things easier for you. Try Tampax Pearl regulars, or if those are too big, try the multipack and use the Lites. You could also try Playtex Gentle Glide and get the lite/regular combo(if they have it where you shop). I've been using tampons for years and still occasionally have one that doesn't go in the right way. If you can feel it, it's usually not inserted right. When you insert it, keep your fingers on the outside rings and put it in all the way. Then use the plunger and make sure the little part goes all the way into the bigger part, that's how you know it's all the way in. You can either put a leg up on the toilet and kind of insert the tampon at a slightly upward angle, or sit on the toilet and just spread your legs further apart. However it's most comfortable for you.
Good luck!

It counts as discomfort. But tampons don't necessarily suit every lady. There are many brands of pads out there that are slim and discreet, and may suit you much better.

it is normal if you are a first time r at it but if youre not that needs to be told to a parent or doctor and they will tell you to use a differnt name brand or a special type of tampon

It's normal to have a little trouble getting used to them.
Check & make sure it is completely inserted. It will hurt a bit, if it's not all the way in.

um, I still have problems with mine and I am 27, look, try the ob tamps. there is no applicator, but you really NEVER FEEL IT. EVER!!!! EVER! if I could get the font bigger, I would make it really big and it would say EVER!. also, Tampax pearl, you don't feel them. But caution, be sure u r using the right absorbency, cause that can make you feel "sucked dry" and uncomfy!!
