Short answer: yes. America is multicultural, although we generally seem under a monolithic culture. Peaceful? Nope. I think a truly multicultural society could exist peacefully, but it would depend upon the lack of a strong centralized government capable of inflicting the majority cultural-ethnic-etc... "preference" upon the rest. The European Union is currently the most multicultural large-scale "society", I believe, and they might make it work, but there are going to be growing pains...

multiculturalism is a throw-away term. Anytime you get 2 people together, you're dealing with multi-culturalism. Multi-culturalism embodies worlds different than our own and is guided by the spirit of "Live and let live." In some circles, especially in 19th and early 20th century european and eurocentric centers the term used was cosmopolitan, but multiculturalism is as old as history. Live and let live.

I think that San Antonio is a wonderful example of multiculturalism. It is a diverse population, primarily Hispanic (Mexican American). Additionally, because of several Air Force and Army bases, people have come from all over the world and settled here. I notice in many large cities and towns, people tend to polarize. Here you see diversity in neighborhoods, schools, communities, churches and organizations. This is one of the nice things about living here.

Well, it was a big hit in Yugoslavia, Rwanda and Brudi. Oh yeah, South Africa and Rhodesia.
Its probably the idea that's damaged America worse than any other goofy idea the libs have come up with.

In general we should not mix, or we 'll melt into one group within a short time.
If our ancestors had done this we would all be some kinda muted color with muted characteristics. How bland would that be.
