I live in the UK, its only small spider, but my god its fast.

Ive been searching the web for a comprehensive databae showing photos of UK spiders, but no luck.

Anyone kno of a good site I can look at?

Ive tried yahoo and google search, but keep coming up with a lot of american and australian stuff. (which quite frankly scares the **** out of me - australia has some NASTY spiders!)

Any help would be great.

I think it was the Natural History Museum website that said there are 600 species of spiders in the UK so you've got quite a task identifying yours from amongst this many varieties.

One website that has info on UK spiders and some pictures is here... http://www.the-piedpiper.co.uk/th11f.htm. maybe your little friend is amongst those featured.

Strange that there doesn't seem to be a decent pictorial site about UK spiders - if it was birds, moths, butterflies etc then there's loads to go at.

Try looking on the Internet for Purdue university or Truman's Scientific Guide to Pest Control Operations. We're located in Colorado and myself and my husband have/or pest control technicians so perhaps these will help you. Being in the UK might make it a little bit difficult for us to identify it but you can try and I'll present it to my husband or his company for consideration.

I put "uk spiders" in my search engine and the second reference I got back fit the question exactly.

You ought to try it sometime.

If there's a place to find a spider, that's the "web". If you know what I mean...
