Kids got into an arguement with their dad over how strong duct tape was. He told them he could use it to secure them to a chair and them stick the chair to a wall, off the ground and it would hold them. They made him prove it because they did not believe him. So, one by one he did it to each of our (3 at the time) kids and it worked. Each one stayed on the wall for at least 5 minutes before the tape gave out but luckily hubby and my cousin were there to catch them so no one got hurt. It was pretty funny.

I live in Texas so when it gets cold, we usually get ice and no snow. So anyway, last November, my husband attempted to go to work on the first day it iced over. He's a supervisor for an electrical company so he pretty much has to at least show up in the morning. As he was driving down the street, about 30ft from his work, he lost control of his truck and slammed the driver's side into a concrete pillar. The driver's side front and back doors were completely smashed in and the windows broke. It was still drivable and we couldn't get the truck to the repair shop until the next Monday, so he duct taped the entire driver's side of his truck until then.

I like to stick a strip to my cat Sharky's back and watch him take off across the room. He usually runs around a couple of times like he's trying to run out from under it until he realizes it's stuck on there and rips it off with his teeth. It doesn't hurt him or anything but now every time I go for the duct tape he eyes me warily.
At the moment it's also holding together the inside of my crappy vegan boots.

This wasn't me, but I was at a party the other night at a Hollywood mansion, and there were models with only paint on....no clothes, just paint. One of the guy models had duct tape covering his crack, and surrounding his dangling parts.
Must have hurt like HELL when they pulled the tape off!

This is not a direct answer but I'll share it with you. You can solve most DIY jobs with duct tape or WD40. If it should move but doesn't use WD40 and yes you've got it
