Becareful not to stereo type - Nintendo makes no claims of Mario being Italian -Do you make this assumption on the basis of his hieght, his mustache, the color of his hair?

Because Nintendo thought that an Italian plumber from Brooklyn would not only appeal to US mad Japanese kids, but would also be flattering enough to Americans to make THEM want to buy it too...!! It worked! You can't say it didn't...!!

There are lots of Italian-Americans, and everyone (or ALMOST everyone!) loves pizza and spaghetti, and America is a HUGE market for technology...!
