I don't know if there's a standard, but I was once a server and the packaging and bagging of the food, sauces, etc. was a bit of a chore.
I will generally tip about 10%, or 2 or 3 bucks....depending on the order, etc.
Your server works pretty hard, and they often get stiffed on to-go orders, so they'll appreciate it!

Industry standard is 10-15%. Being a waitress, I try to tip 20-50% depending on the service. For take out, I'll leave at least 10%. For delivery, I'll leave about 20%.

I don't tip for take-out if I pick it up. In my opinion, tips should only be reserved for real service workers...waiters, delivery drivers, etc. I think getting the order together is part of their job, and they need no extra compensation for that. Servers are usually paid less than minimum wage because of the tips they receive, other people are not.

The standard is nothing. But if for some reason you get what you believe to be great service (on the phone, at the counter, wherever), it would be good to tip. Nothing less than a couple of bucks, but certainly not more than 10%.
It's up to you.

For take out, I only tip if it is very busy and the person got my order together in a timely manner.
I usually tip anywhere from $2-5, depending on how large the order is. (I have occasionally bought food for 8 people)

Attention world: anyone who tips "15-20%" for take-out is a moron. There is little if any service at take-out, and many times you would be tipping the owner of the place, which is wrong.
IF there is a server helping you with take-out, they are probably going out of their way to do it, so a flat tip of 2 bucks or so would be nice. to leave more would be a disservice to the waitpersons who are working hard for the same tips in the dining room.
TIPS ARE FOR SERVICE, NOT JUST FOR HANDING YOU A BAG!! IS THIS HARD TO UNDERSTAND?! THIS IS THE ONE-MILLIONTH TIPPING QUESTION ON THIS SITE.

I don't tip for take out because I didn't get service.

No need to tip for pick-up. They are getting paid at least minimum wage. Its starting to get ridiculous seeing all these tip jars every were you go. (Like at Starbucks...were you are all ready paying big prices)
