It is a never ending cycle of poor people getting poorer. Yes, it is radical and there is little the local governments can do. If we end the war in Iraq, there could be money for the problem. But understand this, those people are not lazy; they are poor.

If there was a radical nature of the urban poor than we would have had an insurrection a long time ago. After all, it wasn't the poor that started the rebellion against the British government that started the United States; it was the rich. I'm not saying that the poor couldn't revolt; it's just that most are too busy trying to eke out their living than to think about rising up against the government. Besides, the poor in the U.S. have it a lot better then they used to for the most part. This is no excuse for a policy that continually creates and oppresses the most vulnerable in society.

No. Most people are more concerned about trying to survive and take care of themselves and their kids. In this day and age, it would be very difficult for anybody but the rich to "revolt". And why would they want to? Just because someone is poor, doesn't make them violent. Anybody can rise above their situation with God. Putting faith in god means there is no such thing as a "hopeless" situation. I speak from experience because I am poor in worldly goods, but I am rich in Faith. And that's what matters.
