Well, if you don't like teaching but you love writing, proofreading and research, then you should look into journalism. Journalism is a discipline of collecting, analyzing, verifying, and presenting information regarding current events, trends, issues and people. Those who practice journalism are known as journalists. Try looking at these websites: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Journalism, www.journalism.org.

Unless you have knowledge of math or science then you shouldn't be doing anything in that field. You need to have more than the basic understanding of the field to be editing that style of writing. From experience as an ecology major, most english majors had more questions than revisions. If it was a paper for an introductory course then there was no problem but when it got to higher level courses they struggled to understand.
If you have a special interest in an area like math, science, law/history, etc. then consider going on and getting an advanced degree in that field (even if you have to take some undergraduate courses). Then you could go on to write books for people of all ages with those special interests. You could also consider going into something like law/politics, archeaology, anthropology, social work, etc.
I hope this helps.

I am taking this as you refering to a graduate degree not post graduate, since that would be after graduate.
Law and journalism are the usual ones for undergads in English. Although for a wide range, business management will do. It really depends on your interests.
As far as research, you can focus every graduate and post graduate education in this topic. Hope this helps.

I don't think you should be embarking on a further degree unless you really know what you want to do so you can get on a course geared to that. MA's are EXPENSIVE.
