Try n' just let go of all your bad habits. Do good things. Let your good overcome your bad. Everything you feel the demon coming out; concentrate n' focus that you control what this demon does, n' you CAN beat this demon. You should just focus on good thoughts; it might not be easy, but the benifits are great! Good Luck!

The first thing to do is to know the enemy. Understand what, exactly, IS your dark side. What it wants to make you do and what sets it off. Learn its limitations and its strengths.

Then you wage war. For many demons, it is a war which will never end. Every day is another battle. You will probably have losses and setbacks. But knowing your demon as well as you do, you also know that to surrender is to be lost. Or worse.

You fight until the day you die. Only then will you be beyond it. But do not rush to this day... for who can say what greater demons may await you beyond the veil of death?

My point of view is that you can't defeat it. Everyone has their "demonic" side, it's something you were born with and something you will die with, all we have to do is accept that it's there. Our actions or personalities don't depend on our bad side but on the fact that we are a morally driven individualistic species with common sense who is capable of differentiating between what is wrong and what is right. Those of us who can't perceive these differences are those who in our eyes do the "wrong" things, to which we then say that their demons are running loose. These are the things that our actions depend on, how we see the world and what we are willing to do through these perceptions, NOT on our "demonic" side.

As a former vampire I know about this...
Fighting only makes it worse
You need to just move in the other direction and over time it vanishes

In the very instant that you have to choose between what you know you should do and what you know you shouldn't do, decide quickly and do what you know you should do. Don't give yourself time to rationalize things you know you shouldn't do.
