My friends needs advice badly READ!!!!!!!!! Room mate situation?

Here it goes. My friend, we will call her Jenn. She had a best friend who we will call Porky. Jenn is tall and pretty and outgoing, while Porky is the exact opposite. In November of last year, they decided to get an apartment together for nine months. Porky wanted to bring her pet cat. Jenn said that she was allergic to cats, so no. Porky agreed. - A couple months later, Porky brings a cat into the apartment. Jenn said that she is allergic, but Porky insisted it would stay in her room and never leave. So Jenn sighed and said OK. A week later, Porky got two pet rabbits. Jenn was puzzled, but since the cat had never left her room, she said OK. Soon after that, Jenn would come home and see the cat and rabbits running around the whole apartment. From that day, Jenn would get sick. Not just a little but really sick: coughing up mucus, sneezing and tearing up, stuffy, could not talk and was always tired. The pets were making her allergic. Then, Porky brought more: SEE DETAILS FOR MORE

Four dogs, two more cats, four fish two frogs a crab. Pretty soon needless to say, the place was a zoo, Jenn kept getting sicker and sicker. The doctor gave Jenn shots 2x a week and she was hospitalized once. Finally, Jenn approached Porky and said "Look, this is all making me sick, plus you promised no animals when we moved in. Either the pets go or me." Porky said "Animals are very close to me.... but I will move them." Porky moves out the animals. For a week. Then they all come back. Jenn gets sicker and sicker. Finally, she has had enough. She writes her a 4,000 word email saying she is fed up and doesnt want to be her friend anymore since she is so inconsiderate. They stop talking. A month later, Porky is engaged to be married to a guy she knew for one month. She asks Jenn to be in wedding. Jenn says "ARe you kidding? We are not friends. You made me sick on purpose and cost me thousands. NO!" Is Jenn justified????

Edit: Yes, Porky is depressed and I believe that she substituted animals for affection. I say this because I am the third roommate caught in the middle of this. We have both known Jenn since we were 9 (now we are 22). She is not allergic to EVERYTHING. Just animals. When I left for work at 6 AM, I would hear her coughing and sneezing in her room. She didn't have to wake up til 11. I also think I gave the impression that she is a b*** from this, but she's actually really nice. I am going to be in Porky's wedding, but Porky is expecting me to side with her about this. She always calls Jenn a b****. So I'm in the middle. It sucks.

Yes... I would not waste my time with inconsiderate people. I am surprised that "Jenn" put up with it as long as she did.

Tell "Jenn" that we can never have enough friends...and since all of us have different feelings on animals, among everything else...nothing can make you feel better on the inside than being heartfelt and forgiving.

I'm so sorry if I offend you, but these "animal allergy" people don't make much sense. I mean, has she ever been outside? Animal dander carries allergens. They are not born with them. It's just so silly. It's an excuse. Sorry!

Still...just be friends. Maybe if Porky had more good friends than she wouldn't need as many animals around her. Maybe Porky has some heart aches in her family that drive her to try and substitute animals for love?? Get real...who has that many animals? I think maybe Porky needs friends right now more than Jenn.

Porky was inconsiderate of Jen. Outright disrespectful. And she went overboard adding to Noah's ark. Jen put up with all this crap! I would have given Porky a time period to get rid of the animals and by then if they were not gone I would have kicked her to the curb(in the meantime interviewing for a new roommate). Porky could have bought stuff animals for affection they don't poo, shed hair, scratch, or make you sneeze. Shoot! Jen could have sued her for the hospital bills. Can you see where Porky ran over Jen? Wedding!? Jen's not going okay so why are you going? Point one she made Jen sicker and sicker. Point two you said Porky just met the guy. It's not about picking sides it's about doing what is right. You need to set Porky straight. Being self-centered is the definition of "b#@!%". Thanks for being in the wedding but you don't talk about my girl like that.

Totally justified in here response.If someone is that inconsiderate she wasn't a friend to begin with. If Jenn knowing she was allergic should have never agreed to the first pet. She should have just moved out and had nothing to do with porky. But to answer your question yes Jenn was totally justified in the way she handled it ( I probably would have been a lot ruder).

Well as far as the justified thing goes, she maybe could have handled her e-mail a little more this "I am sorry i will be unable to attend your wedding, we have some disputes that need to be handled and I wouldn't feel comfortable going, but I wish you and your new husband the best of luck.Sorry i won't be there" To you it may sound tacky, but it does sound better and it leaves less heart ache. As for the room-mate she needs to apologize and I do sympothize for your friend for having to go through all that. To avoid it from ever happining again, next time she needs make some kinda written contract limiting the animals or location of them, that way if anything like ever happens she will have a written and signed copy of a contract so she can take it with her and make that person pay for the expenses, and make sure that person signs the contract otherwise they can say she just typed it up to be mean.

I believe that Porky brought more and more animals on purpose, because she was jealous of Jen. Jen should not go to the wedding...it is totally justified.
