What was it like during your first physical, when the doc stuck something up your vagina? I forgot what there called......everybody please answer???

Are you asking what they usually do? Well the doctor usually asks about your period and if you have any unusual pain. Then the Doctor usually does a simple breast exam. THen the doctor asks you to put your legs in some stirrups. They usually explain what they are about to do befor they do it. The doctor will stick the "duck bill" in your vagina and get a sample of your cervix. There might be some light cramping but it will go away. then the doctor will stick two finger in you to feel your uterus. Its no big deal. No more then 10 minuts or so.

The instrument used to keep your vagina open during a pelvic exam is called an speculum. These come in a variety of sizes, from pediatric [for virgins or very young girls], small [for women who have little sexual experience and have never given birth vaginally], medium [for average women who have regular intercourse] and large [for women who have had several children and whose vaginae are distended due to childbirth trauma]. Be sure to tell the doctor if you've had little or no sexual experience or if you feel any discomfort during penetration so he/she uses the instrument that's most appropriate for you. Try to breathe deeply during the exam so your pelvic muscles are relaxed; also, it's important to empty your bladder immediately before climbing into the examination table, because a full bladder will cause more discomfort than necessary. Have a female friend, or your mother/sister/cousin or somebody else who you trust to be with you in the room for emotional support and reassurance.

It's called a pap smear. They stick a speculum up your vagina to open you up. If you are a virgin let them know and they will use a smaller speculum. I wouldn't say it hurts just slightly uncomfortable. It's usually over within a minute. All they do is take a quick look around, swab your cervix and then the doctor will normally press on your ovaries. They will also do a quick breast exam. Just make sure you are honest with them...they can't disclose anything you tell them.

the the doctor fingered me basicallly!!! I was scared at first. My stomach was hurting the whole time she did it because I was scared. Because no one had gone down there on me before. It was a very awkard, weird feeling.
It was quick but it seemed like forever. you know?
She put like this cold metal thing in my vagina. it looks like the jaws of life and it exstends so he can see you inside.lol. I forgot what they are called. And then she took a swab and got some specimen from my vagania wall or whatever. All I could remember that I felt really loose and sick after. HAHAHA

I believe they are called speculums. The exam can be slightly uncomfortable because it is metal and could feel a little cold. Also because someone is observing a "private area." It is nothing to worry about though. They lubricate it and it will only take a second. The best advise would be to RELAX because if you don't it makes it worse than it really is! It is essential to good health.

A speculum is what it's called. It was a little weird but didn't hurt or anything. It was quick and painless.

pap smear i think is what they are called. its fine during but after you get bad cramping. yet the cramping only lasts like a day. they jus take this big qtip and swab inside and thats about it.

it was ackward, cold and it hurt a bit. just figure whom you'd rather be poking you down there a woman or a man. find a doctor whom you're comfortable with.
