At the office, we buy boxes of pencils and sometimes we'll get a box where most of the erasers are already dried out. And instead of erasing they leave a pink streak over the area. Is there any way to fix this, some weird chemistry trick like soaking them in something?

I don't think so. Just buy a package of the kind that you stick on the end of the pencil. Simple solution, and you won't have to throw out the pencils. Good luck... :)
