"Tangled up in Blue"
I once knew a girl in college who was a good friend and was dating another of my good friends. She threw him a birthday party where everyone came dressed as a Bob Dylan song, I was "I pity the poor immigrant", and she came in a white dress with blue yarn wrapped around herself as "Tangled up in Blue."
I'd had a crush on her for a long time and had opened my heart to her about the time she started dating him, being told I'm not the one for her.
Four years later I had just started listening to Dylan in earnest, and had just picked up Blood on the Tracks following a weekend visit with him. I found out they had broken up and feelings for her started pouring out again. (Like they were written in my soul, if you will.)
I went to visit her in NYC with a carefully penned love letter that was awkwardly deliviered and got rejected again. Ugly words were exchanged via phone and email for the next couple of days, most of them my fault, and I didn't hear from her for year.
There was a brief reconciliation, but we fell out again, largely due to her discomfort with my hard to contain feelings for her.
The tragedy is that the happy and bright eyed girl I fell in love with in college has been hurt by men so much that I think she pushes everyone away. And the last time I did speak to her, she came very close to saying she felt alone.
If I'm very lucky, she's reminded of me whenever she hears "Idiot Wind".

Jeans On reminds me of rollerskating (in the normal direction) while Wango Tango reminds me of the speed skate. Which Rock n Roll Fantasy are you talking about? The one by Bad Co. or the one by the Kinks? Also, why is mom sad?

Four years ago, I had my lower wisdom teeth cut out. The dentist was playing the radio in the room, and as he was packing and stitching my gums, he started humming and singing along to "More Than a Feeling" by Boston. Now when I hear that, I think about the whole procedure, from the nerve blocks and the sawing to the humming and stitching!

Many songs do...one is Kissed by a rose, Seal. It just reminds me of being in college and hanging out with this guy I've been in love with since I was 12, I'm 28 and still love him.

"Money for Nothing" by Dire Straits reminds me of an elementary school field trip to a local pizza place....we got to see how they make pizza and then we gorged ourselves on it. I drank so much orange soda that I could feel it sloshing around in my stomach.

Be My Escape - Relient K.
when he says:
" i've been dying to get out, even if it might be the death of me."
and...
"i've gotta get out of here, and i'm begging you to be my escape"
it's totally diff. from what the song means but it reminds me of being grounded when he says that.
