My boyfriend and I talked about getting married over dinner last night. It shocked me that he brought it up! I cant wait to, I never want to push though. We live together now. But he still has 2 years of his loan to pay off... Hope I dont have to wait that long. im 22 hes 30. Im just wondering how long other people waited before he proposed to you? Or how long after the talk did u go ring shopping. Or was it just a surprise?

My husband & I began dating in Oct 2001. He proposed to me on my birthday 5 months later with a ring. We had a 2 year engagement and finally married in May 2004. He is 28 and I am 27...and he still has 3 years left on his student loans. What does the loan have anything to do with it? I say go for it, if the loan is stopping him from buying you the ring of your dreams, go buy a cheap one for like $100. Have a long engagement and then before the wedding go pick out the rings you really want.
