As I got older I kind of shed away from my sister because I was doing other stuff, she is 3 years younger than me and I was interested in other stuff! You all know how that goes. Anywho, when we were younger we used to talk about a lot of stuff, she knew who I liked she knew everything. As I got older it got to the point where I was really private and she didn't know anything. But now that she is 14 I am sort of telling her about crushes and other stuff. When we talk about boys for some strange reason she gets very excited and there is a look of comfort on her face. There used to be a time where she would always be so nosey and get in my business, also. But now I am telling her stuff and she enjoys it. Should I talk to her like this more or stop because it might make her grow up to fast?

You should talk to your sister and enjoy her company often. More important than just sharing private stuff with her, you should also make yourself a good example for her to follow because believe it or not, your little sister looks up to you.

I lost my big sister a few years ago and it still hurts so much when I can't see or talk to her like I used too. Sisters are so priceless. So enjoy her company and friendship as much as you can...for as long as you can.

BOTH OF YOU ARE GROWING UP. MAYBE YOU COULD EDIT THINGS A LITTLE IF YOU THINK YOU'RE GIVING HER TOO MUCH INFO THAT WILL MAKE HER GO TOO FAST. A KID HER AGE IS BY NATURE VERY INTERESTED IN BOYS, ETC, AT THIS POINT IN HER LIFE, REMEMBER WHEN...?! MY SIS AND I WERE ALWAYS VERY CLOSE EVEN THOUGH WE FOUGHT LIKE CATS AS KIDS. I AM 3 YEARS OLDER BUT WE SHARED EVERYTHING THEN AND NOW. AND YES, IT'S A HUGE COMFORT FOR HER AND SHOULD BE FOR YOU, TOO. THERE WILL BE A DAY WHEN YOU WILL BE THANKFUL TO HAVE SOMEONE YOU CAN TALK TO ABOUT ALL THE 'GOOD' STUFF YOU MAYBE CAN'T NOW. YOU WILL GO THROUGH A LOT AS YOU GET OLDER AND WHEN YOU ARE A MILLION YEARS OLD YOU WILL HAVE SOMEONE TO HOLD YOUR HAND WHEN GROWN UP LIFE GETS TOO DIFFICULT. I KNOW MY SISTER IS MY BEST FRIEND. YOU'RE IN FOR A GREAT LIFE TOGETHER IF YOU STAY CLOSE TO HER!

I'm an older sister too. I'm thirty-six now but I understand why you'd be feeling concerned.
It shows that you're a caring big sister and it's a good thing.
My answer to your question is; talk to her, talk WITH her. Don't forget to ask her what she thinks about things and remember that you're a powerful role model for her, so be aware of how what you're saying might affect her.
She loves you and she needs you. There isn't anyone else in the world she feels the same way about.
Good luck

More....always more! She is at a very important stage and needs to be talking and learning from someone! You have an opportunity to be one of the great people in her life. Someday she'll be talking to her kids about you, maybe even her teenage daughter and telling her how important you were to her when she was the same age. There's nothing better than sisters! Good for you for thinking about her!

You talk with her , it wont make her grow up too fast. I tell my two children my girl is 14 and my boy is 12, that one day i wont be around for them so they have to be there for each other. My sister and i never got on when we were your age but thankfully that time is over now and we are friends. Sisters are special.

You should keep taking, She is really interested in what you say, because she missed you, She probably loves you a lot and doesn't want to lose you again. Cherish every moment with your sister. Don't put her down, treat her as if she were a delicate piece of art.

She is putting her trust in YOU because you are her sister and she knows that you may have been through a lot of the things SHE is going through right now...be her friend but most importantly BE HER SISTER. Good Luck!

Sounds like your just being a good big Sister. Don't lead her to trouble of course but being informed is a good thing. Brings back memories for me. I'm the oldest of four girls.:-)
