What if someone actually found the meaning of life? One that everyone agrees on that transcends religion and diversity. Something that can be proven.

Perhaps this question is the ultimate example of relativism. In "What is the meaning of life?" the end of the question -- for you -- is implied. Perhaps a Christian would quote the psalms and say the meaning is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. Perhaps a scientist would say to know all that it's possible to know.

Knowing the meaning of life would not necessarily change us, but it would give us insight into how we look at life and our place and purpose within it. People are curious for others' insights because it helps them to form the right questions themselves.

someone or something doesn't want us to know the meaning of life; you would think that by now we would have figured it out... but, no we haven't... it's not in their benefit if we figured it out... that's my theory. People want to know because they feel without purpose that's why, they want to know what they are here for, since they have nothing to do...if we knew then we would change our perspective on life and maybe the world would be a better place

It would depend on the person. I already know the meaning of my life so it wouldn't change me a bit. But for some people who have no direction it could give them a path to follow.

if someone hasn't already found the meaning of his life ,that is happening to the most of us,he doesn't know if he acts properly in his life or not.it's very difficult to find the meaning of your life, but if u find it i think that your life will not have interest at all...during our life we have to learn from our mistakes,if we find out what's the reason we live it's possible that we will not like it,and the bad thing is that we cannot change it!

There can be no meaning of life that everyone agrees on. The meaning of life is different for each and every one of us because we have to find our own meaning.

The meaning of life usually comes down to what's most important to you.

If you want to know the meaning of life, watch City Slickers, Jack Palance as Curly will tell it better than anyone here can. hehehe.

Mitch "What is the meaning of life?"
Curly "This."

Curly Holds up his index finger.

Mitch "The meaning of life is your finger?"

Curly "It's one thing."

Mitch "what one thing?"

Curly "That's what you have to figure out."

Curly rides off.

people ask because they want to know. however, they would not get the answer because the ultimate answer is God. God is the ultimate being, and we cannot be the ultimate beings in the universe. We continue to yearn for the meaning of life, which actually draws us towards God.

I don't have an answer, but I appreciate the perspective shift. It gives me something new to think about. What if it just doesn't matter?
