There wasn't peace while he was alive. It's hard to believe one musician could make such a significant difference. But you never know. He may have taken a more active role in politics or world affairs (sort of like Bono has started to do). If he'd become a statesman, his influence might have been greater. But generally, no, I don't think so. It would be nice to have seen him try, however.

That's a foolish statement. Lennon sung and talked of peace but was NOT in a position to do anything about it! This is a big part of whats wrong today is we (the public) place celebs in a God like place. they don't create life, they don't know anymore about politics than us etc etc yet we place their actions and words as the word of God its not! Lennon was a GREAT entertainer nothing more!

No, but I think he'd be an old man, with lots of scars on his body from the various places where he'd have been shot at, knifed, stabbed, bottled etc. by sundry people sent to kill him over the years.
Alive, he'd be a frail, flawed man. Dead, he's a saint with an airport named after him and a widow who's had many a hot dinner from sales of his "perfect" memory.
