The oil out of Alaska is such a small drop in America's consumption it shouldn't impact prices, but since we continue to pay whatever the going rate is there is no need for regulations. It is currently $2.99 in Portland, Oregon. Who knew the oil from Alaska would get here so fast?!

I can't see how this came as a surprise. Everything has a projected useful life and businesses make provisions for it. So if BP didn't know it was coming management is very inept. I don't think they are though. I think they timed the announcement to create the very results that it got. Inept or liars, take your pick. I say they are liars.

It's $3.49 for super here in San Francisco. We get ripped off the most! But I'm glad they are choosing to close it down rather than use a corroded pipeline and ruin the environment.

400,000 sounds like a big number, but its not really in comparison to our usage.
