Unfortunately you cant. Most people know they need help deep down, but the "surface" person doesnt want to admit it. Some people will never accept help they have to pay the price life charges before they wake up. It's really sad however it not your fault or duty for anything. Examine why you feel it is your duty? be careful that you dont get mixed up in the same things trying to help him. Of course as a friend you may feel you need to help but after being turned down multiple times he may not be ready for the help. Reassure him when he is ready you will still be there that's pretty important that he knows, because it will probably be a rough exit of the bad things he's doing.

All you can do is tell him that you'll always be there for him. Just let him know that you care about him and his life, and just remind him that if he ever wants someone to talk to or a shoulder to cry on, that you'll do everything in your power to help him. Once you say that let it go. This way your friend knows you're willing to help him. But don't bring it on yourself to get this person help. When he is ready for help, he will come to you.

I believe it's not possible to help people change if they don't want to change. The most you can do is let that person know that you care about him & his future, that you think he's a worthwhile person who deserves a better life, & that you're willing to help if he asks for it.

Deep inside I bet he feels like he can't be helped that this is what was meant to be. Teach him he's wrong. That theres more to life then what hes doing. Take him places. Have fun with him.

All you can do is be there for them when they want help. Impossible to help someone who doesn't want help or realize they need it.
