I've recently undertaken the task of re-reading ' A people's history of the United States' by Howard Zinn. It has spurned many question that I found myself failing to ask for fear of rejection or inadequate responses. Any information your have to share concerning the questions or the history of the US are welcomed. Thx.

If I were to die today, I know that I have put myself and my ideas out there, and someone, at least one person, has seen them. Maybe I changed their lives, altered the course of history, and I'd never know it. But at the same time, I don't need to know it, as long as it is done.

I gave money to the poor, food to the hungry and clothes when they needed some. When the Lord points this or that person to me that needs help I help without a thank you. I tell them to thank the Lord for guiding me to them. Please don't thank me, I am just a willing person to listen to the voice of the Lord and I am glad to help.

No, I do not have a voice in society.

A better question is: If you were to die today, what have you done to help society?

The answer to THAT question is more relevant as it may be, "I did NOT help anyone."
