My best friend got herself drunk and had sex with a guy she met at the bar. They started dating because they liked each other once they were stable again and now she's pregnant thanks to him. Once he found out, he moved in with his friend who lives in New York(We are in NC). She's really upset and I don't know what to do for her. What can I do for her? All I want is to help her and stand by her but I am not a parent and I don't plan to be for a while. She's only 16. I am really worried about where her depression could be going and I don't want her to feel like she's alone. Again, what can I do for her?

She needs a doctor to take care of the baby and herself.
Go to a school and ask where she can go for help if not there call a hospital they will send you and your friend to a doctor who can work with getting mind ready You also can call a church for help A good doctor will know at 16 life has become hard to understand and will work with the pregnancy
If the doctor gives her any stuff about her age. Say thank you and get another one that is nice to talk to. Doctors are like cars you need to like them to trust your life in them.

At 16 you are a great person I wish you luck with your personal goal of being a great friend. At 16 she will have fear , denial, and
at times become acting like a 5 year old and then again a 30 year old. Encourage her to tell her family they may be very helpful.
The boy has his baggage in man terms "look I can make babies" He may call her names help her understand it just words
Some come around to see it different just depends what his life has been like. No one knows he is pregnant so his life is harder show what he is going through.

First if she is only 16 she needs to be turning to her parents right now. They are going to be upset but she is their daughter. As a friend all you can do is support her through out it emotionally. At 16 chances are she is not ready to be a parent and she needs to start considering the possibility of adoption just talk to her and be there for her when she needs you. If this guy is over 18 then her parents need to know where he is so they can start action to get him to at least take finacial responsibility for the child if she keeps it. Being alone, pregnant and a kid is hard and your friend needs to get help. There are organizations out there that can help her.

Try to talk to her and ask her to make some decisions. Does she want to have and keep the baby? Even if she wants to give the baby up for adoption, she will still need prenatal care. In most states there are places that underage mothers can go for help.

She needs to forget about the guy and concentrate on taking care of herself, but I doubt if she wants to hear that now.

Just stand by her and let her talk and try to guide her.

You are doing it. You are being supportive and caring. She needs to decide what she wants to do: keep the baby, adoption or terminate. If she is not terminating the pregnancy, she needs to start pre-natal care immediately. She also needs to tell her parents and let them take what legal action they deem necessary against the boyfriend. How old is he? Could this be called statutory rape? Please encourage her to speak to someone at a counseling center for pregnant teens, her church or school. Remember to call her and ask about HER, not just the baby. Good luck.

jsut being a great friend and stick by her is the main thing, also does her parents know, if not someone needs to tell them, it may seem scary but has to be done, and also lwt her know all teh choices she has, have it, abort it, give it up for adoption. SO id jsut listen to how she feels and just be there for her, and make sure she is seen by a doctor for all her symptoms for depression and everything related to the birth

It could be worse, he could have claimed her abusive, etc. to take the child away and make her spend lots of money in court, but now she can raise the child, get support from him and not worry about him at all. She will and can move on to find a great man that loves kids and her.

No, she is not pregnant thanks to him. She is pregnant because she had sex without protection. Next, she was not very smart. It is a pisser but we all learn that we must be responsible for our actions and wisdom is another word for failure. Five minutes of fun for 18 years of responsibility. Not a very good trade.
I think that you should be a good friend and support your girlfriend by helping her see her options. She has options. Learn from her experience and you will be wiser for it. No, not as her mother but as a girl who saw the truth and got smart or should I say wise the easy way.

Let your friend know that you are always there for her. Tell her that she probably doesn't want a guy like that in her life anyway. Your friend is better off raising her baby alone than with some jerk who doesn't care about her or the baby.
