A firm is one single company, even with multiple locations (General Electric, Ford). An industry is the group of all the companies that make similar products or provide similar services (the airline industry, the auto industry)

companies also could refer better in the route of criminal agencies..i.e. a criminal agency or promoting agency..a organisation that does no longer unavoidably make a tangible product. An market on the different hand looks to refer better in the route of a paticular sector of production...i.e. the vehicle market, nutrients market and so on. agencies that manufacture tangilbe products. only a idea desire it enables!
