In practically every city or town in America, there is not going to be shooting allowed within city/town limits. That being said if you are in the country I hope you have a berm behind where you are shooting so that the bullets do not travel, also I hope that you are verifying that there are no people "down range" when you are shooting. As for neighbors, it would be wise to inform them even if they are down 10 acres because they might hear shots and call the police .

Consult state and local laws, which vary. Your state highway patrol and conservation commission should be helpful, also local police or sheriff's office. In addition to laws, I bet you know that a .22 can do accidental harm from a mile away, and centerfire rifles can do harm from 3 miles away, so don't shoot unless you know ahead of time that your bullets will stop harmlessly. You don't want anyone hurt, and you don't want a lawsuit. All that said, target shooting is a great sport.

Depends on where you live. Most CITIES ban it completely. Go to an indoor range or a shooting club. If you go out back and hit someone - it's called, at the least Manslaughter - and off to prison you'll go.

I'm sure it varies by location. You'll have to check your state and county ordinances, and, if you're in the city, those, as well. Although my guess is that it's not allowed in the city anywhere.

Lotsa luck.
