You have to remember that theses guys are crushing the ball . The ones you buy can sail out .It has probably happened to you . The rubber band you can tie off and if it does come loose it is not going to fly into the stands and take an eye out. It still soaks up the vibrations.

Answer #1 is correct. A dampener can fall off the racquet, but you can tie the rubber band to the racquet string so that it will act like a dampener but won't fall off even in extreme conditions.

They don't fall out when you hit them. It does the same as a dampener, it is just a rubber band.

Some people like the feel better than a dampener
