There's this annoying thing flashing on my icon tray. It keeps saying security alert i have spyware in my computer blah blah blah...

It's so annying and it keeps opening new windows and asking me to buy their freakin' antivirus software! But I don't wanna buy!

It says my computer's infected, but I think they are the spyware as I didn't install anything on my computer, it's annoying me so much!
It's just stuck on my computer and wont leave!

I tried to get rid of it in Add/Remove Programs from Control Panel but it's not even there, it's probably hidden somewhere on my comp.

Please help!

Go to start>run, the type in msconfig. Your start up menu window will appear. Go to the last tab, I'm not sure what it's named, probably start up something. From there you can check which programs will appear in your icon try, uncheck the ones you do not want running, and by doing so removes it from the icon tray. Be careful not to uncheck system programs, this'll mess up your pc.

Now, having done this, you might wanna run Lava Soft's ad-aware, its a free program you can download from the net that eliminates ad-wares.

Lastly, run a anti-spyware program, the one provided by Yahoo toolbar is quite reliable.

Yes, that is spyware. If you try their product they'll probably install more spyware.
What you need to do is to get a real antivirus program, there's 2 very good free programs on the net, Ad Aware and Spybot Search & Destroy, then scan your computer.
Also if you don't have a firewall, get one.

Kerio personal firewall -

Get an anti-virus too if you don't already have one, I recommend Avast.

Download these FREE programs and run them, they should eliminate most spyware/adware programs and worms.

SpyWare Blaster: http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

Spybot Search & Destroy:

Did you install any new programs or anything recently? P2P programs are especially known for causing nice little things like that.

Hi, There are problems with your IE

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar, which is the most powerful in blocking popups.

firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and spyware, adware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

download firefox for free:

yahoo has an anti-spyware program - you can run it from the Yahoo task bar. It will inspect the computer and take care of a problem (or so they say...)

the guy above have been given it one million/2 nicely suited. Uninstall Norton, installation Avira loose or Avast homestead. AVG is a destructive antivirus, do no longer use it. verify you get one extra firewall in case you do take this direction, the homestead windows firewall is especially a lot no protection in besides. Zonealarm loose consistently gets especially sturdy comments.

It sounds like a trojan / spyware. Get a remover - download Spybot from Tucows.

Delete all your cookies from your browser too.

Careful of where you download any free stuff from though - sometimes they are the bad guys. Tucows is ok (I think).

Spyware.
Download and run both Ad-aware and Skybot Seek&Destroy for free from download.com. Between them they should solve the issue.
