A much longer history plus the amount of times they play each other every year. And of course they are both American League teams. The Mets history, except for a few successful seasons now and then has been pretty uninteresting. With the Yankees and Sox the pennant is usually on the line.

The yanks would much rather beat up on the Mets. How can you call the Yanks/RedSox a rivalry when the Yanks beat them constantly. 26 champs to what 5 for the Sox. Please, it can only be a rivalry when the teams wins about 1/2 the time. The Red Sox have been the Yankees punching bag for 80 years. Only stupid Red Sox fans think there's a rivalry there. Yanks/Mets is where its at.
Shea stadium is considered to be the worst stadium in MLB right now.
Frankly, I think the Tigers are a joke. White Sox suck too, but they're slightly better.

Because they don't play each other every year like the Red Sox and Yankees. They have to play each other on a consistant basis to call it a rivalry.
Unfortunately, I haven't been to either Shea or Yankee Stadium. But, I would answer with Yankee Stadium because of the history alone.
I believe the Tigers will more games than the White Sox in their upcoming games. I just think that the Tigers have a better team right now because of their pitching.

Because the Yankees and the Red Sox are in the same division in the same league whereas, the Mets are in the National league. Thus, the Yankees and Mets play ONLY during inter league play while the Red Sox and Yankees play 19 games throughout the season. Plus the Red Sox and Yankees have a long history compared to the Mets who are relatively new to baseball.

The media has blown Yanks-Red Sox over the moon with their rivalry. Mets should be as big, but BOS-NYY is the "best" in sports.
The stadiums are both dives, but Yankee Stadium has a huge historic feel.

In order for there to be a rivalry, teams have to face each other, alot..
Interleague play has only been around for a few years..
The Boston/NY rivalry has been around since 1901.. both teams have fought hard to finish first.. Babe Ruth was sold to the Yanks for a Song.. Bucky Dent killed the Red Sox hopes of a title with a homer in a one game playoff, winner take all type game..
The Yankees Mets have very few games against each other..

No rivalry will surpass yet another. each branch looks to have a minimum of a few. AL customary: Twins-Tigers, Twins-White Sox AL East: red Sox-Yankees AL West: won't be able to imagine of any NL customary: Cubs-playing cards NL East: Mets-Phillies NL West: Giants-Dodgers Interleague: Yankees-Mets, Cubs-White Sox To me, there is no better positive rivalry than White Sox-Twins. Why? i love the White Sox. and then my second favourite.....White Sox-Cubs. residing close to Chicago, i comprehend the dislike between the Cubs and White Sox, the Cubs and playing cards, and the White Sox and Twins. yet those rivalries do not look to interest ESPN because they are contained in the Midwest the position there aren't any further as many followers because the East Coast....it really is all about the money. all of it has to do consisting of your opinion. yet you're surprising in keeping that the red Sox-Yankees rivalry is media pushed.

1) B/c the to the yankees and redsox its actually matters how the other team does in regards to who gets into the playoffs
2)Shea Stadium is much cleaner so i guess that makes it nicer
3)The Tigers are gonna beat the whitesox 2 out of 3, and they will be good games, but the tigers first have to survive a series vs the twins, where Liriano and Santana are both pitching
