I pretty much loved the SNL era of the early 90's.

Deep Thoughts from Jack Handey were so funny. I loved Matt Foley the motivational speaker (Chris Farley) who talked about living in a van down by the river. I liked basically anything Chris Farley did. He was hilarious.

I also liked Mike Meyers when he did Coffee Talk, and Simon, the British kid who was always in the bath. Julia Sweeny's 'Pat', Stuart Smalley's Daily Affirmations always made me laugh, as well as anything Phil Hartman did. ALL of Adam Sandlers songs, and Opera Man. Chris Katans 'Mango'. The *******. There's way too many that I love.

The best Weekend Updates had to come from Kevin Nealon and Jimmy Fallon/Tina Fey.

The skits when Will Ferrel plays the bald keyboard player with his wife and they sing popular songs but they trash them in very funny medely style and the cowbell skit. Chevy Chase and Norm Macdonald but i think the news was just funnier then. Hey Guess What?...I got a fever and the only prescription is more COWBELL! I gotta have more cowbell.

Several years ago (during the Dana Carvey, Phil Hartman era) when Steve Martin was guest hosting, they did a skit about explorers who came across a land lost in time, filled with dinosaurs. A dinosaur grabbed one of the guys and kept whacking him around on a rock while the others debated whether or not he was dead. I almost peed my pants over that one.

Oh yeah, also when Alec Baldwin was Pete Schweaty on the "Schweaty Balls" skit with the NPR girls. Classic!

The two loser guys who used to hang out on the corner and try to pick up chicks. They'd say things like, "And my bad breath can't be helping either." I can't remember their names but they were funny. And the Chris Farley character, the inspirational speaker who lived "in a van down by the river" then he'd end up falling all over stuff, like the coffee table and breaking it. Oh, and the lady on her front porch that would yell at the neighborhood kids and keep their balls and stuff that landed in her yard. There are too many funny ones for me to name all of my favorites!

Cowbell, baby. Cowbell.

A close second is Norm MacDonald as Burt Reynolds (aka Turd Ferguson).

As far as favorite WU anchors, it's definitely Jimmy and Tina. I'm sorry, but Tina Fey can deliver a punch line like no one else.

Chris Farley doin the Matt Foley, motivational speaker guy. The one with Christina Applegate, and David Spade sitting on the couch is hilarious. You can tell that they are struggling to keep from busting out laughing.
"....in a van, down by the river!"

I loved the "Samauri" skits done by John Belushi.

EVERY Mr. Bill skit!! Ohhhh nooooooo!!!!! Why....why....whyyyy?????

The Dan Ackroyd skit, where he does a "commercial" for a blender....and drinks the final product!!!

And SNL really hit a home run (badly needed after years of sagging episodes) with guest host Alec Baldwin's "Schweddy Balls"/National Public Radio skit (done during Christmas holidays, 1999).

The Contintental with Christopher Walken is my favorite skit.

Chevy Chase was probably the best Weekend Update host.

I loved the cheerleader skits with Cheri Oteri and Will Ferrell - that was genius. I also liked Cheri Oteri as the medicine lady who was so addicted to hundreds of medications. The old commercials were also pretty funny too.
