I'm 13 years old, a girl, and am 5'6". Am I tall for my age?

I never said being tall was bad. I just was wondering if I'm considered tall. I actually want to be tall!

I would say you are, because your not going to stop growing until you're around 18.....and that time I think you'll probably be 5'9". That's tall!!
But what's wrong with being tall?

Yes, you are tall for your age...you rank in the 70 percentile. Which means if there are 100 kids, girls who are 13 years old. you are taller than 70 of the kids. Congratz. You're not giant-like tall, but just above average and that's good. So you are very tall compared to me. :D (i'm like a midget) Keep eating nutritiously, just don't try to over-eat or not eat at all, and don't concentrate too much about weight or you won't grow as much...Lucky you, I'm only 5 feet tall and I'm 13. :( Oh well, everyone has different times when you stop growing and different times when you grow.

That's about the normal height for a girl. But if you're 5' 6" at 13 you will be taller. Being tall isn't a bad thing.

dont worry i was 5'7 when i was 13 now i am 14 and is 5'8 and a half! the docs said i was done growing! be proud that u are tall!

Yes, but thats ok, my 13 year old sister is 5'8. So you are fine as long as you arnt the tallest girl at your school.

no way! i was 5'9" when i was 13, and i haven't grown anysince then. you'll probably grow another inch in the next few years then stop, you're at a good height!
