My internet explorer is..gone. It's there, and I can double click on it on the desktop, and access websites(not all). However, it has a big problem. Certain websites where the compatibility is only using the newest browser, which is IE6. I'm pretty damn sure I have IE6, but I can't access the site. So I go to microsoft.com and try installing internet explorer 6, and then when I launch setup, one message always shows: Setup has detected a newer version of internet explorer installed already. Setup cannot continue.

Well, if so, I'm still having problems. And I can't see IE6 on Control panel either on the programs list and I don't know how to fix it, or where to access it to fix it. I think that's just about enough details, but more questions, you can always pm or email me.

-thanks.

I would recommend reinstalling Internet Explorer. One assumption I'm making is that you're using Windows XP -- is this correct?

Here is an article from Microsoft on how to reinstall IE: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318378/

It's a little complicated, especially since you'll need to know which version of IE you're running, but there are articles about all of this. If you have further problems, please just post a comment to your question, and I'll do my best to keep helping...

Otherwise, you could try switching to another browser. This might help diagnose if it's really a problem with IE. Or if it's a problem deeper within Windows. I'd recommend Firefox, since it's a decent web browser: http://www.mozilla.org/download.html

cuz it quite is crap. Use Firefox - it quite is unfastened and much less themes - you've distinctive tabs open and that's a techniques cool in comparison to IE. Uninstall IE thoroughly and then reinstall for those few stupid sites which you're able to desire to desire it for.

I suggest you upgrade to the Mozilla Firefox browser. Many viruses, etc. target IE so that it will mess IE up.
