The intention is to obtain white sugar out of black sugar

warguy2000 is more or less right about how to to decolorise black sugar. I would suggest that you add about a teaspoon of activated charcoal to 100 mL of black sugar solution, boil then filter. Then evaporate the water from the filtrate very carefully eg leave it out in the sun - but take care to keep out insects, dust.

It depends on what makes it black. If it is suspended particles such as charcoal, simply filter it.

dissolve it in water and mix it with activated charcoal. Stir it for ~ half hour and filter it, then remove the water (rotovap if you have one). that often gets rid of colored impurities.

im not sure, but i think that you can mix it with charchoal, and then filter it, and that will remove the impurities.
