Warm water...or better yet, use hot water. The hot water will heat it up AND moisturize it. And that would be helpful because the reason it is so hard to get rid of is that it is dry. And then after that it should be easy because toothpastes are specifically engineered to work with water so it will easily dissolve and come off easy.

If it is still wet, use a damp wash cloth to wipe it up... repeat with a clean cloth as necessary (and it will be, lol)

If it has dried.... then you can take a small hammer to it, and break it up, and vacuum it out of the carpet. Just gently smack it with the hammer until it is in tiny pieces and vacuum.... repeat as necessary, heheh.

Have Fun!

If you have nothing around the house to get rid of it get Goof Off. I know somebody who spilt oil on their white carpet and that stuff got it out.
