Why are so many more loyal to their political party instead of their country?

I hate liberal democrats, well I hate neocon republicans. What good is all this its the country thats down on its knees. What about the USA?

I was asked once Republican or Democrat? I said neither. The answer "you have to stand up for something" my reply I'm not a scared sheep without personal vision for myself and my country. I don't need to feed to partisan power to know that I can make a difference. People are afraid to think as individuals. They like to be part of a mob so that they can be bigger than themselves. I say to you, Get some balls! Be your own man!.

I agree with LeoGirl for the first time, to a minor extent. I am loyal to my party because I am loyal to my country. However, that doesn't mean I always vote that way - I have voted for Lugar in every election (and of course will this year because he has no opponent - but even when he did I voted for him). My biggest issue is people like LeoGirl who say that others who wish to do well for the country in a way different than she would is her enemy. I have very few enemies within my own nation.

This movement of calling everyone you disagree with your enemy or ("a cancer") does nothing to better the nation - it makes it worse.

Because its easier to be loyal to something that says it has your interests at heart. Rather than people informing themselves and making the best decision they tend to just vote for party because its easier than paying attention. Lets face it, most people are just far too busy living thier lives.

It is because of my loyalty to my country that I am loyal to my party. I will protect it from the cancer of the far left who wish to destroy my country from within.

Dont vote by party vote for the person and what they stand for.
