Would the party that seemed to specialize in the robbing of liquid assets, namely the Liberal Party, have been robbing the country of fewer lives?

Recently it was reported on the news that much of Canada's military effort in Afghanistan has been directed at suppressing the opium trade between Afghanistan and the Far East. Does "sacrificing" lives to the "cause" of cultural relativism make sense to you? How much different is the opium den from the bar?

Stephen Harper as PM recently praised Tony Blair as a man of peace. Tony Blair, as you remember, took Great Britain to war in Iraq much against the wishes of the British people who had put him in power. He seems more eager to please the source of his power.

Stepen Harper is much too holy to be believed. He is shown in pictures conspicuously walking out of church with his well dressed family, flaunting his religion and family values in an ostentatious way.

He is like George W. Bush. (a Bible Belt man) He defers to him.

being an anti-conservative person, i wanted to hang myself when i found out that stephen harper became PM. i hate that guy so much. i don't believe the liberals would have taken canadian forces out of afghanistan unless a strong enough force and pressure was placed on the liberal party to do so. the NDP, no doubt, would have taken our forces out.

but i personally believe that the canadians are doing a good deed when peacekeeping in afghanistan. the previous taliban regime that was present there, is absolutely disgusting. i have done some research papers on the taliban regime, and how they treat women absolutely disgusts me. did you know that if a married woman where to talk to a man in public, she would be stoned to death immediately under the taliban regime? the taliban regime must be brought down and kept down, but we are doing the wrong thing when trying to keep them down, we shouldn't use force. we should use diplomacy.

stephen harper was a wrong choice for canadians indeed. i agree with you, he is nothing but a follower of george w. bush.

For the umpteenth time, Harper DID NOT put the troops in Afghanistan, the Liberals did. It's basically a UN mission and at the request of the Afghan government. War is war is war is war and unfortunately soldiers and innocents will be killed. Should we just put our collective heads in the sand and turn our backs on the people who need our help the most??

We were in Afghanistan prior to his being elected, he has done nothing that would determine the death toll. He actually visited the troops and is determined to have them well supplied. The fact that he sucks up to Blair and Bush is irrelevant to your question. Harper at least has some balls, unlike ***** liberals like Chretien and Martin.

No, no... a thousand times no, he wasn't a good choice. But our presence in Afghanistan is not the only proof that the other Canadians made a mistake voting Conservative. The basic problem is that Harper is taking dictation from the White House in crucial issues, being defense and the environment the most delicate ones.
