Today, I set my hand in front of her and she crawled up and then her fangs started to seperate (Idk how to word it, but she did the same thing right before she brought her fangs out at my brother for taking her dish out to put more water in because he bumped into her and it scared her a litle bit). Should I put her back or let her crawl the rest of the way into my hand?

She's never bitten anyone yet (including when she was in the pet store - I asked) and she's generally rather calm. She doesn't bring her fangs all the way out, (you can't see the actual sharp parts at all) so as Ziz mentioned, she might have been stretching.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, but tarantula are nervous of anything coming down from above. When you put your hand down for her to crawl on make sure your arm is fully extended so that your arm is not over top of her.

I have one also and when I take her sponge out to put more water in it she gets kind of taritorial. Anything in her space is her's and she doesn't like you to mess with it. I would let her crawl around on you a bit first..like on your pants and then after a while I would see if she wants to get on your hand. The smallest things can aggitate them .....breathing on them or wind...sudden movements...even if your petrified they can sense it. The bite feels like a bad bee sting. I have been bitten twice. Mine is like 8 years old and she is so tame that she lets me rub her under her abdomen. Just keep working with her every day. Tirantulas take time. Don't be affraid of a bite. It's not that bad. But if you feel that she is aggitated then put her back and try again later. Give her a while to calm down.

I had a desert tarantula from New Mexico, straight from the side of the road. And I never once tried to pick it up. My brother gave it to me as a gift because I would take care of almost any animal. Only I didn't want him (it was a male), so I gave it to my older brother.
I'm sorry but if I stuck my hand in the cage and it walked up to me, my hand wouldn't be back in that cage no more.

I think it is most likely that she was just stretching, but keep in mind that tarantulas (even more docile species) shouldn't be handled all that often due to the danger for them (a short fall can result in a cracked carapice and death).

there's really no way to know for sure what's going on in her mind since she's the only one who can accurately answer ur question and she can't talk. that being said, i'd get online and do some research. in the meantime, be careful and gentle with her. if she was going to bite, she would've done it already but that's just my opinion.

Dont let her crawl up your arm for a while....she should be okay.Sometimes this happens after the spider thinks something has happened to her....she should be fine..

dont be scared... most probably she is still afraid of humans after your brother scared her. Try to let her crawl and make her feel safe again.

OOH that's creepy! I'm so afraid of spiders. You should call your vet and find out. You don't want to get bit...
