White flight and continued population loss due to economic trouble/taxes, corrupt leaders and mismanagement, gangs, crime, drugs, urban decay, decline in social services, etc. etc. At what point, if ever, will Detroit see a rebound or "rebirth" like other cities? How far does the population shrink before it happens? What factor(s) will contribute to this rebirth we've been looking for for decades now?

The only answer is wide scale and comprehensive government programing. Specifically, the distribution of Guns, Ammunition and Drugs on a city wide basis. Set up distribution centers. Perhaps start with old Tiger Stadium and supply all Detroit residents with a Gun and plenty of Ammo. The old political adage of A chicken in every pot, could be modified to - for every Detroiter a pound of pot. The city could issue prescriptions for medical marijuana for every Detroit resident. In fact the State agriculture department could subsidize the growing of pot on vacant lots all over the city.
After this program was in place for about a year, I think your problems would be gone. All the "evil people" would have killed each other off and the rest of the population would be totally "chilled."
It could then be called "Dudetroit" instead of Detroit.

Just a thought.

The only thing I can imagine is an influx of professionals moving into the city which would start the movement forward, it could happen but there needs to be something huge for that to happen in Detroit so I doubt it has much luck. I believe Detroit is on its way and will become the muslim capital of america.

Get rid of the source of the failed economics, the Democrats. Then, put in Reagan Republicans. It will take time, but you will see things start to turn around.

Corporations and Republican leaders have to take responsibility for their failure to address the energy crunch... Don't see how you can blame democrats for this mess.
