this is not my lap top. it belongs to my friend and shes going to kill me if i mess it up.

If you are referring to your "Back" icon on the explorer window, then it is 1 of two things. First, look for a separator bar (I) to the right of the "Home" icon. See if you can click on and drag it to the right.

If that didn't work then at the top of the screen select View, then Toolbars, then at bottom Customize. There is a list on the right that shows what is displayed. Scroll to the top of that list and make sure the back button is listed. If not, locate it on the left menu and select add. Then close that window and restart your explorer screen.

Right click on a blank area of the toolbar and click "Customize...". Then move the back button from the available toolbar buttons to the current toolbar buttons.

Go to View/Toolbar/Customize. You will find the back arrow there.
