true enough,what im trying to say is that we scots get tarred with the same brush cos it is always"british" and not "english"

It's like comfort in numbers. The English hardly do anything good, so calling their usual foolhardiness, a British act, helps mask or sharply reduce their propensity for idiocy.

However, the Scots, Irish and Welsh seldom stray, so they try to highlight each and every weakness.

The English suffer from an inferiority complex, pure and simple.

Yeah but when it comes to international tournaments, ie, the World Cup, England is the only British team that ends up getting anywhere so loads of Welsh and Scots always support them. Also, Scots can't separate themselves from English football when their managers are coaching our teams. Alex Ferguson springs to mind...

This is typical of English media. Take the Champions league......the teams are English when they are still in it but when they get put out they say 'another British hope fades' etc.

In events like the Olympics they are English if they are winning British if they lose.

Eventually you ge used to it..........good things=English, bad things = British.
