i have a sony viao-vgc-rb52. i want to get a new computer case for it...a full size one. but im not sure what type of motherboard i have....i dont know if its a microATX or normal ATX. and i cant find it anywhere. if anyone can find out for me or give me some advice that would be great.

It's probably a proprietary Sony motherboard. You're looking at replacing the motherboard too in order to change the case. This is common among large companies such as Sony, Dell, Gateway, etc. in order to cut down on assembly time, and something few people mention as a drawback to buying these major brands, but it is so.

I used to own a computer store and we built all of our models from individual parts, so you didnt have the issue that you have now. I would contact Sony's technical support and explain what you want to do. However like the other person mentioned, i think several ports are intergrated into the mother board and wont fit into a new case, as the ports wont line up. Good Luck
