What could the problem be if I hit send/receive and MS Outlook says 'operation failed'? Could that be a corrupt inbox?

That makes sense...my ISP did say that they have been having a recurring outtage...meaning the connection is going in and out over the last few days. Thanks so much for answering, all of you!!

it could be a bad internet connection and have nothing to do with outlook. restart the computer or the internet connection. good luck
