They're acting like people being killed, raped and robbed just started happening when we were born... these things have been going on for over 400 years. Music and television have very little effect on what people do. People do the things they do based on their beliefs and their up bringing.
If you grow up around nothing but violence and destruction, then thats probably all your going to know anything about. Nobody in their right mind will not go out and kill a man just because they saw it on TV or heard it on a CD. I just don't think the government understands anything outside of a suburban setting.

I think in ways we are affected by whatever media we take in but if we are raised properly then we know the difference between fantasy and reality. I remember when I was a teenager and all of us liked listening to Iron Maiden who had a song called The Number Of The Beast...we didn't go around sacrificing people to the devil or anything like that. Then again, I also listened to a lot of Hendrix and Led Zeppelin, read their biographies, and thought at the time that it was perfectly alright to smoke grass and drop acid, which I did for many years and had to go through quite a bit of lesson learning before I let it all go. I still listen to Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, and Jimi Hendrix...that doesn't mean I'm going to tune in, turn on, and drop out these days. Youth is influenced by what they see and hear, and a lot of it will seem a lot cooler than what their parents tell them. I guess it depends on the individual in the end though.

I think that the music we allow our children to listen to has an effect on their mind set. I don't however blame music totally, I think that most of the problems with youth come from disinterested parents.

It desensitized them. If you see it all the time then its no big deal. Some of the lyrics in music today is very violent. I know rap make me want to kill something.

because they think the Music and Tv are bad for young people and it not the music or tv it the young people and what are their beliefs and what their parents told them and i say as a Example if you rise to hate "Gay People" you think you have the right to kill "Gay People" that is not right!!

it do have a lot of influenced on our young people today from hip hop to the god father movie .and it also go back to not disciplined your children's when their bad .to many kids having kids etc.
